(1) Al contrast exams need to have a creatinine test within 10 days of hte sutdy if a patient is 65 years or older, diabetic, had chemotherapy in the past year, or any known kidney dysfunction. IStat readings are available.
(2) Al patients on Metfomin that receive IV contrast are to stop any Metformin product for 48 hours. This includes Glucophage, Riomet, Glucophage XR, Fortamet, Glumetza, Glucovance, Metaglip, Avandamet, Actoplus-met, Janumet, etc. (3) *If a patient is al ergic to IV contrast, steroids can be prescribed 50mg 13, 7 and 1 hour prior to exam time. These patients wil be scheduled at the hospital.
